Goals and Objectives
Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Astrophysics Research Center and Ulupınar Observatory, with its competent research team, astronomy, it aims to create opportunities for researchers in the fields of astrophysics and space sciences to conduct effective research by providing observational research opportunities, and to modernize these opportunities by developing them with the project support of center members, and at the same time to increase space awareness in society by organizing science-society events while advancing towards these goals, the Center continues its work to achieve some goals:
- To be an observatory where researchers in our country and around the world, especially ÇOMÜ, can benefit from the fields of astronomy and space sciences, where effective research can be carried out and discoveries can be made, and to make this sustainable.
- In addition to scientific research, to be a field of application for undergraduate and graduate students and to encourage them to participate in research.
- To organize science-society events that can benefit sky, astronomy and space enthusiasts from all segments of society.
- To provide astronomy and space-based education to students of different age groups, taking into account the curriculum contents, and to enable them to carry out observational practices.
- To organize teacher trainings on the basis of astronomy and space sciences and to be an application area in the trainings.
- To create collaborations that can direct the research goals of the center members and those doing research in the relevant field and create resources.
- To be an Observatory that is known and followed by scientists who conduct research in the fields of astronomy and space sciences in our country and around the world, and then by those who are interested in this field.
